I selected this photo because I like the strong contrast between the bricks and the background. Compositionally, there is a balance because of the light and dark values. Also there is an interesting point of view shown by the close up of the bricks. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/125 for shutter speed and an F stop value of 4.5 for aperture/depth of field.

Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the focal point of the dice. There is also an interesting contrast in colors seen in the blue of the dice. When I edited this photo, I adjusted color balance to make the white in the dice appear to be whiter. The camera was set to a fast shutter speed and I used an F stop value of 2.

This photo was taken for the Painting with Light assignment. The element used most in this photo is line and shape. The use of negative space adds to the artistic value of the photo. I edited the brightness values in this photo to emphasize the negative space within the photo. The camera was set to a slow shutter speed of 4 seconds to capture the movement of the lights. The abstract nature of this photo shows how art is not always symmetrical.

I chose this photo because I like the simplicity the use of negative space creates. The lights used in this photo creates an interesting shape that seems natural in creation. The focal point of the photo is the curve of the line created and the elegant illumination effect it creates. I edited the balance of values so the curves stand out. The shutter speed was a high shutter speed of 3 seconds. I like that this image is simple but still appealing.

I selected this photo because I like the blue tint combined with the over exposed painting with light image. I think this image implies that the subject is in a daze of thought and is focused on something. Compositionally, there is a variety of colors because of the different shades of blue and also the contrast with the black and blue. Also there is an interesting point of view that creates a shadow across half of the subjects face. To take this photo I had the camera set on a fast shutter speed and also a pretty standard depth of field aperture/depth of field.

This photo was taken for the motion assignment.
What I like about this photo is interesting colors that stand out against the black background. My point of view was at a downward/above angle to capture the motion blur in its full potential. The photo is framed in a way that shows makes the twirler like the focus of the image. The ISO was set to 2 seconds to capture the movement in the image. |
